Synopsys unveils Simpleware 3D image processing software

Synopsys, a US-based software company announced the release ofSimpleware U-2022.123D image processing software.

The latest release of Simpleware software includes many new features and improvements. These include the new craniomaxillofacial (CMF) CT tool in the Simpleware AS Ortho/CMF module, smart paint tool, automatic option for 3D printing connectors, and additional materials analysis.

Features of Simpleware 3D image processing software

Craniomaxillofacial CT Auto Segmenter being the first feature has a fully automatic AI segmentation of CMF CT scans. The software helps segment the bony structures, teeth, airways, and eyes. It also includes the automatic filling of the thin bone within the orbits. The software facilitates the automatic region of detection to speed up inference.

Automatic placement of connectors is the next option to automatically place connectors between two neighboring parts. It provides a choice of algorithms depending on the geometry and connections required. The software easily fine-tunes with interactive widgets to resize and reposition.

智能速度分割掩模填充油漆工具ing provides an enhanced paint tool that assists painting operations using smart detection algorithms. This tool can be used to paint on the active slice as well as neighboring slices using a cylindrical brush shape.

Simpleware ScanIP software facilitates materials analysis which now includes fibers, pores, and particles. Full workflow for generating, visualizing, and exporting statistics is enabled by the software. Option to analyze open or closed pores, and for touching or isolating particles is also available.

Simpleware ScanIP has additional improvements like the “Slices intersection position” widget for 3D view, improved centerline visualization interactivity, and preserving mask color when creating surfaces. 3D printing toolkit is also incorporated for speed improvements of at least x2 and up to x64 for Booleans.

3D scanning software

Previously,Riven, a 3D scanner and software provider, released an extensive novel part validation package that engineers can employ to speed up the New Product Introduction (NPI) process.Riven’s integrated scanning, comparison, and communication solution enable NPI engineers to capture printed parts, detect deviations from CAD files, and team up to resolve issues. The platform efficiently allows manufacturers to spot possible defects earlier in the design process, reducing overall product iterations, shipping delays, and, ultimately, dissatisfied customers.

Furthermore,Adobe, a multinational computer software company, launched a novelexperimental software prototypethat incorporates 3D scanning, design, and augmented reality (AR) to improve access to 3D assets. DubbedScantastic, the software allows users to scan physical items with a mobile device and convert them into 3D models using the firm’s photogrammetry pipeline. These models are then imported into Adobe’sAeroDimensiontools to generate augmented reality (AR) experiences or 3D design scenes.

Elsewhere,Scan Dimension, a 3D scanner developer with offices in the United States and Denmark, revealed a software update for its SOL3D scanner. The update adds a number of new and enhanced features to the scanner, which includes faster scanning and support for macOS Catalina 10.15. The Scan Dimension website offers versions of the software for both macOS and Windows.

“We created the SOL scanner to make 3D scanning approachable for everyone,” explains Graham Tinn, CEO of Global Scanning A/S, the parent company of Scan Dimension. “SOL empowers anyone to unleash their creativity and explore the infinite possibilities of 3D technology actualization.”
