AMGTA appoints Sherri Monroe as new Executive Director

Industrial 3D printer manufacturerCarbonhas announced Vincent Rerolle as SVP of Corporate Development. Rerolle brings 30 years of experience consulting technology firms on corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic alliances to the role, having held previous roles of the likes ofNauto,Lunera,Acquia, Cavium,Intel-acquiredWind River, andHP-acquired Mercury Interactive.
According to Carbon CEO Phil DeSimone, Rerolle’s experience in building software-powered businesses creates a strong foundation to develop a unified process for Carbon’s corporate strategy.

Palari Group to build 3D printed net-zero community
Moving onto facility news now, housing developer thePalari Grouphas partnered with Indonesian property developerSinarmas Land(SML) to accelerate the development of its 200-home 3D printed net-zero energy community.
SML has acquired a 40% stake in jointly expanding the group’s pipeline of sustainable single-family residences, including the net-zero community which when completed will host 200 3D printed homes.
Collins Aerospace builds new 3D printing center
Rounding off the past week’s news is aerospace and defense supplierCollins Aerospace, which has added a new additive manufacturing center to its Monroe, North Carolina, campus. The center will support its subsidiaryRaytheon Technologies’aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) network.
The center will be equipped with two 3D printers, with more expected to be added in the future, and was built as part of a series of recent investments made by the company. The investment has also provided new equipment from streamlined operations, enhanced quality control, better employee safety, and an increased workforce at the site.
“Our Monroe site is one of Collins’ largest MRO facilities in the world, and the repairs we provide are essential to keeping our airline and military customers’ aircraft in service,” said Mary DeStaffan, Monroe site general manager for Collins Aerospace.
“We’re proud to call Monroe home, to continue to invest and grow in the community here, and to support the region’s growing aerospace cluster.”
