While Christmas is almost upon us meaning turkey, presents and family time, it also means we are closer to CES which happens at the very beginning of the new year. In order to build up the excitement, here is a preview to 3D printing at CES and a round-up of some of the companies from the 3D printing industry that will be at the event in Las Vegas between 5th-8th January.
DWS

The man behind Reebok’s 3D printing shoe manufacturing, the Liquid Factory, Bill McInnis will be speaking at CES and most likely about the future of 3D printing in shoe manufacturing with his talk titled ‘Next-generation Footwear Manufacturing’. This year we saw big shoe brands such as Adidas, Nike and of course Reebok embrace 3D printing in their shoe manufacturing and moving into the new year this trend will likely increase withAdidas only recently selling a 3D printed runner. Other notable mentions – ZMorph and Conference talks
Other companies to be showcasing their 3D printing technology include Polish company ZMorph whom 3DPI recentlyinterviewed CEO and founder Przemek Jaworski. Brian McLean of Laika Studios will be talking at the conference, presumably about the use of 3D printing in the film industry following the success of their3D打印的定格电影Kubo和两个弦。Local Motors will be represented by Alex Fiechter who will give a talk ‘From Economy of Scale to Economy of Scope: How 3D printing will bring vehicle customization to the masses’ following announcements this year of their3D printed car and drone combo.
