TRIDITIVE announces serial manufacturing of metal parts with AMCELL and BASF’s metal-polymer filament

TRIDITIVE, a Spanish 3D printer manufacturer, is looking to accelerate the adoption of serial additive manufacturing of metal parts.

The 3D printer manufacturer will achieve its goal of high volume production with its AMCELL 3D printer, and the Ultrafuse 316LX filament, made by the largest chemical producer in the world,BASF.

Mariel Diaz, CEO of TRIDITIVE, said, “The parts printed with AMCELL using BASF’s metal filament solution meet the geometric and surface quality requirements for mass manufacturing of final parts. The controlled build chamber environment in the AMCELL and its optimized extrusion process achieve part porosities similar to those that are typically obtained from metal injection molding technology (MIM).”

AMCELL, a 24/7 automated manufacturing machine

TRIDITIVE’s AMCELL is a conveyor belt 3D printer, capable of producing up to 10,000 parts per month. Enabled by its control software and remote monitoring, the AMCELL is making additive manufacturing a viable solution for 24/7 high volume manufacturing.

AMCELL is capable of producing a series of high complexity and extremely precise parts with metal and plastic filament. The machine is designed to be a fully automated and controlled system. It uses EVAM software which is capable of managing orders, prioritizing print jobs, reducing machine downtime and remote monitoring of the production process.

The automatic load and consumption control of filament facilitates the AMCELL to operate largely unsupervised during the whole production process and reduces human labor and intervention to a minimum. The AMCELL machine can be seen at Formnext 2018 in Hall 3.0, Booth A28.

Furthermore, TRIDITIVE is also presenting the SCALADD, an additive manufacturing center housing multiple AMCELL 3D printers for automated high-volume manufacturing. By the end of 2018, SCALADD will have a production capacity of up to 30,000 parts per month.

The main purpose of SCALADD is to provide turnkey services to associated clients, who can have access to a percentage of TRIDITIVE’s production capacity. SCALADD aims to provide access to additive manufacturing production capacity and all the services from AM value chain in SCALADD Consortium.

In addition to this, companies can have access to TRIDITIVE’s worldwide partners’ network. The list of these partners which will be published throughout this week.

Ultrafuse 316LX filament

BASF’sUltrafuse 316LX filamentis a metal-polymer composite made with 316L stainless steel type powder. Tailored to existing high throughput metal injection molding industry (MIM) standard and sintering, final metal parts are produced in high quality.

The combination of AMCELL’s capabilities for automated manufacturing of large batches and the use of Ultrafuse 316LX enable the fabrication of cost-effective 3D printed parts.

AMCELL’s easy loading and unloading of materials eliminate potential hazards inherent to other AM processes, which use metal powders, such as Powder Bed Fusion (PBF), Direct Metal Deposition (DMD) or Binder Jetting.
