Nexa3D appoints Avi Reichental as permanent CEO

Nexa3D, a California-based SLA 3D printer manufacturer, has announced that its Co-Founder and ChairmanAvi Reichentalwill be the company’s permanent Chief Executive Officer. Reichental will serve as CEO whilst retaining his position as Executive Chairman of the company.

Nexa3D’s board of directors has also promoted its Chief Product Officer Izhar Medalsy, who joined the company in 2017, to the position of Chief Operating Officer. Medalsy has played a vital role in the development of the company’s NXE400 3D printer, which is now in the process of commercialization.

“We are grateful to our board for their continued confidence in us and look forward to delivering a significant upgrade to the tens of thousands of older legacy stereolithography users,” commented Reichental and Medalsy in a joint statement.

“3D printing is an unstoppable force of change and it’s our privilege to work together with the entire awesome Nexa3D team to bring ultrafast 3D printing to market as the ultimate productivity tool for designers and manufacturers.”

The NXE400 and Varseo XL

Co-founded by Reichental in 2016, Nexa3D develops SLA 3D printers geared towards professionals and businesses.

At theRAPID + TCT show 2019, the company introduced itsNXE400 SLA 3D printer. The company’s new COO, Izhar Medalsy, has overseen the development of the NXE400, for the past two years. On the capabilities of the NXE400, Reichental commented, “Our NXE400 presents a significant upgrade for experienced stereolithography users with its ultra-fast printing speed, high volume precision ready to use parts, and expanded range of performance materials that come at the most economical cost of ownership available on the market today.”

At theInternational Dental Show(IDS) 2019 in Cologne, Nexa3D also unveiled another new system, theVarseo XL, an SLA 3D printer developed for the dental industry. The company worked alongside German dental device manufacturerBEGOto make the system compatible with BEGO’s full range of dental resins.

After a 12 year span asPresident and CEO at 3D Systems, Reichental left the company inOctober 2015 to start his own venture, advisory, and product development firmXponentialWorks.Based in Ventura, XponentialWorks focuses on early and mature stagecompanies in the fields of 3D printing, robotics, artificial intelligence, and deep learning. Other members of the XponentialWorks ecosystem includeQuantum Laser Sintering(DLS) companyNXT工厂and topology optimization software specialistParaMatters.

Reichental is also Chairman of the Board at3D printed electronicscompanyNano Dimension. He is Vice Chairman of Wisconsin-basedautomotive manufacturing service providerTechniplas, and also serves as CEO of its additive manufacturing armTechniplas Digital, which formed in 2017.
