DyeMansion, a manufacturer of cleaning and surface finishing systems for the 3D printing industry, has made a bunch of announcements this week at Formnext.

In a bid to further pave the way to serial additive manufacturing, the company has unveiled its new DM60 Black Line coloring system alongside highlighting the integration ofSiemensMindSphere and its participation in two production lines for eyewear and footwear.

DyeMansion is also showcasing its Powershot DUAL Performance blasting system for the first time at the show, with shipment of series systems beginning in Q4 2022.

The DM60 Black Line

The first of DyeMansion’s announcements is the launch of the DM60 Black Line, a special limited edition of the firm’s DM60 coloring machine. The Dm60 Black Line is modified to focus on the black coloring of grey Powder Bed Fusion (PBF) parts such as those created withHP’s Multi Jet Fusion(MJF) technology orStratasys公司’Selective Absorption Fusion(SAF) technology.

According to DyeMansion, the DM60 Black Line offers an automated alternative to pot dyeing and can deliver 50 percent cost savings per part and up to 50 percent cycle time compared to the classic DM60. The system is equipped with the standard DyeMansion ISO certifications such as cytotoxicity and skin irritation.

The Black Line system is also combined with a DM60 reservoir which enables users to reuse the process water for up to five dyeing cycles and therefore reduces the consumption of fresh water and the amount of wastewater produced. DyeMansion is now accepting orders of the DM60 Black Line bundle, which can be ordered up until 31st March, 2022.

“The demand for coloring grey polyamide parts in black has significantly increased over the past years,” said Philipp Kramer, CTO and Co-founder at DyeMansion. “The DM60 Black Line is our tailor-made solution to meet this demand in an industrial easy with reduced cycle time and cost-per-part.

“Our customers can now dye their parts with this new developed process in the proven Deep Black quality in a more efficient and faster way.”

Machine integration with Siemens Mindsphere

DyeMansion is also showcasing its machines’ integration with Siemens MindSphere, an industrial Internet of Things (IoT) as a service offering. With Siemens Mindsphere, DyeMansion’s technologies can be integrated with any MES, ERP and IoT platform based on the industry-standard OPC UA architecture for serial manufacturing.

The companies will be demonstrating live machine-related data such as status, process information and sensor data at booth D21 in Hall 12.1.

Alphacam and CADimensions become DyeMansion sales partners

Yet another Formnext announcement from DyeMansion concerns the addition of technology supplier to the DACH regionalphacamand North American 3D printing supplierCADimensionsas authorized resellers.

Both companies will offer DyeMansion’s entire Print-to-Product platform, and will be instrumental in bringing the combination of Stratasys’ SAF technology and DyeMansion’s post-processing systems to the DACH and North American markets.

“The partnership with DyeMansion is an important step for us to offer our customers the best possible technology,” said Michael Junghanß, CEO and Founder of alphacam. “The DyeMansion Print-to-Product platform harmonizes perfectly with the SAF technology and thus allows us to offer our customers the entire process chain up to the finished product from one source.

New eyewear and footwear production lines

The final announcement from DyeMansion this week highlights the company’s role in two new production lines, the first of which is Additive Scale, a project carried out in partnership with 3D printed eyewear manufacturerYOU MAWOand是全球.

Producinghigh quality 3D printed glassesin quantities from one to a million units required a scalable and reproducible process with a range of color options, which is why the companies chose to leverage to DyeMansion’s technology.

“The application of eyewear is often underestimated in terms of quality and surface,” said Sebastian Zenetti, Managing Director and Head of Sales at YOU MAWO. “After many years of working together, we really trust DyeMansion technology to ensure quality and scaling in our manufacturing process.”

Another application-driven production line DyeMansion is displaying is the iAMfootwear project, which is seeking to produce complete, non-branded footwear. Working alongsideArkema,EOS,framas, Siemens andTwikit, DyeMansion is deploying its Print-to-Product workflow to transform the midsoles – printed with Arkema’s PEBAX material using EOS’ SLS technology – into colorful and sealed end-use parts.

In particular, the project is leveraging DyeMansion’s Powerfuse S to deliver essential vaporfuse surfacing to the flexible materials that make up the footwear application. iAMfootwear will provide footwear brands with the final shoe, which can be individually tuned to optimise design, performance, and cost.
