Desktop 3D printer manufacturer Creality has launched its newEnder-3 S1 Plus3D printer.

The FDM printer features the largest build volume of the Ender-3 series, which also includes the previousS1S1 Pro, sitting at a respectable 300 x 300 x 300mm.

As is the case with the rest of the Ender product line, the Ender-3 S1 Plus aims to combine accessibility and ease of use. It comes 96% preassembled with a simple six-step setup process, meaning just about anyone can pick it up and play in a matter of hours.

Creality has priced the S1 Plus at just $529, giving budget-conscious beginners, hobbyists, and prosumers a cost-effective way to 3D print polymer models larger than ever before.

The Creality desktop 3D printing portfolio

Based in China’s tech city of Shenzhen, Creality was founded in 2014 and specializes in FFF and LCD 3D printers for a variety of desktop users. The crux of the company’s success comes from its extrusion systems, including theCR-6 SE,CR-30,Ender-7, andCR-10 Smart Pro.

最近,Creality还开发了自己的完整封闭3D打印机系列。这包括Sermoon V1,CR-200B,CR-5 Pro High-Temp Version,Sermoon D1, and more.

Creality的树脂3D打印机产品系列包括LD-006,LD-002H, andLD-002Rmachines, as well as the newer吊挂式,HALOT-SKY, andHALOT-LITE.

The Ender-3 S1 Plus

Despite the budget-friendly price tag, Creality has managed to pack a whole host of advanced functionality into the Ender-3 S1 Plus.

Much like some of the firm’s more recent systems, the machine comes equipped with the company’s own‘Sprite’ extruder design, a compact dual-gear direct-drive extruder weighing in at just 210g. Unlike a Bowden extruder, Sprite’s in-house design enables up to 80N of force with a 3:5:1 gear ratio, requiring less torque from the motor while facilitating smoother filament feeding.

The extruder’s full-metal body comprises a titanium alloy heat break and a chromium zirconium hotend, offering improved wear resistance and superior heat distribution when compared to older designs. Thanks to the maximum nozzle temperature of 260°C, the system can process filaments such as ABS, PETG, and even TPU. The side of the extruder even has an XY axis tensioner screw to adjust the tightness of the belt.

The build plate is covered with a durable spring steel sheet topped with a PC coating. The magnetic print surface is both flexible and removable, ensuring part removal doesn’t pose a problem.

Playing into the accessibility factor, Creality has implemented its own 16-point automatic bed leveling procedure. NamedCR-Touch, the system leverages a precision optical sensor for a completely hands-off experience. The dual Z-axis leadscrews also help to preserve high print quality, maintaining the structural integrity of the gantry.

On the electronics front, there’s a 4.3” full-color touchscreen with nine language options and a 32-bit mainboard for sub-50dB operation. Creality has chosen not to cut corners on the quality of life features, integrating a dedicated filament runout sensor and power outage recovery functionality to save those longer overnight print jobs.
